This original painting draws inspiration from one of ancient Egypt's most enduring myths. At its heart, Isis cradles the dying Osiris in a timeless expression of devotion, grief, and unwavering love. Their embrace captures the eternal bond between life and death, loss and renewal, reminding us that love possesses the power to transcend even mortality. Standing nearby is Set, the god whose ambition and conflict led to Osiris's downfall, embodying the forces of chaos, struggle, and transformation that shape every cycle of existence. Behind this sacred drama, Masonic columns rise beside a black-and-white checkered floor, while a flowing fountain symbolizes the continual renewal of life, wisdom, and spiritual awakening.
Peinture
Ecofeminist paintings of the unseen threads between consciousness and Earth.
My work moves between two interwoven themes: the spiritual exploration of human existence through a mythical lens, and an ecofeminist, socio-political response to the environmental and systemic violence shaping our world today. My ongoing Goddess Portrait series is rooted in archetype and different goddess mythologies around the world where I seek to reveal the hidden layers of identity, resilience, and consciousness, elevating real women into divine portals of divine power manifested in human form. These works honor the sacred within the mundane, bridging personal history with collective memory through ancient symbolic language. Parallel to this, my practice also confronts the trauma inherent in our current ecological and social systems. In these other works, I tend to use discarded materials, found objects, and fragmented imagery in order to address the pressures of capitalism, environmental degradation experienced by different communities and the emotional and spiritual costs of a world which is out of balance. My practice rejects the confinement of a singular style or market-based expectation. Together, these two strands of artistic exploration form a single inquiry: how do we thrive, transmute, and create meaning in the midst of our perpetually changing world? I seek to give voice to my curiosity, my intuition, and my sense of adventure—honoring art as a living, evolving dialogue between self, society, and the unseen forces that shape us all.
