Underground Reflections Oil on canvas • 60 × 90 cm Underground Reflections is inspired by the mysterious beauty of the Basilica Cistern in Istanbul, a place where architecture, water, and light converge in an atmosphere of timeless silence. Through a succession of arches fading into the distance and their reflections mirrored in the still water below, the painting explores the fragile boundary between reality and imagination. The luminous opening in the distance acts as an invitation, drawing the viewer into a contemplative journey through space and memory. Soft pink and violet tones blend with turquoise reflections to create a dreamlike environment where light becomes both subject and guide. Part of the Architectures of Silence collection, this work reflects an ongoing fascination with places that evoke stillness, mystery, and quiet wonder—spaces where time seems suspended and silence becomes almost tangible.
Painting
Roza Tarpagkou est née en 1983 à Thessalonique, en Grèce. Titulaire d’un doctorat en Génie Civil, sa curiosité créative l’a rapidement conduite au-delà des frontières de la science. Depuis 2014, elle vit et travaille en France, où son parcours artistique s’est progressivement façonné. Après plusieurs années étant qu’Ingénieur de recherche à l’Université de Grenoble, Roza a choisi de suivre sa passion de toujours pour l’art et la peinture, entamant en 2023 une nouvelle voie. Elle a étudié la peinture techniques mixtes à l’École des Beaux-Arts de Grenoble, stage de dessin à l’École Nationale Supérieure de Paris, stage de portrait à l’École Nationale Supérieure de Lyon, ainsi que l’histoire de l’art à l’École du Louvre. Ses peintures explorent le dialogue délicat entre la nature et la mémoire, mêlant émotion, structure et atmosphère. Elle participe activement à des expositions collectives internationales en France et en Grèce, et en 2025, elle a présenté sa première exposition personnelle en France. Les œuvres de Roza figurent dans des collections privées et sont présentées dans des galeries sélectionnées, ainsi que sur sa page personnelle Instagram et sur son site Internet.
