Created during the final months of the 2020 lockdown, “Infovirus” reflects the impact of the constant flow of pandemic news. Reports of infections, deaths, economic uncertainty, and restrictions spread fear and anxiety far beyond the virus itself. The artwork depicts a COVID molecule with tentacles reaching toward a person’s head, symbolizing the influence of overwhelming information on the mind. The artist suggests that alongside the pandemic, society also faced an “infovirus” of fear and stress.
